Trent and Amy Meng
Trent and Amy Meng are looking forward to launching Becoming Church in February of 2018 in Aliso Viejo, CA. This has been a dream of theirs for many years and brings them back to where it all began. They were married in December of 2004, and have been sharing in this great adventure of serving the Lord together ever since. Their ministry journey has taken them from California to Tennessee and Washington and they are excited to be back in Southern California where they met and started in ministry together.
Pastor Trent loves the church passionately. He has dedicated his life to serving the unstoppable, life-transforming force that is the Church of Jesus Christ. Trent has a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies/Pastoral Leadership from Vanguard University and a Masters of Arts in Missional Leadership from Northwest University. Trent enjoys reading, any and all things related to the playing or watching of sports (especially the Los Angeles Lakers), and spending quality time with his wife and daughters. They have three girls – Sydney (9), Savannah (5), and Hadley (2), who fill every day with laughter, joy and the unexpected.
Amy has several passions in her life, with motherhood and ministry at the top of the list. God is using her role as a mother of three girls to expand her understanding of His heart and His call on her life. After graduating from Vanguard University with a degree in Music Ministry, worship leading and songwriting have developed as tremendous passions for her. She also teaches piano and voice lessons and loves to use the music God has put in her to inspire and encourage others. Amy’s ultimate goal is that her life and leadership can consistently paint a greater and more glorious picture of God so that “many will see and hear, stand in awe before the Lord and put their trust in Him.” (Psalm 40:3)
Cecile and Jordan Avne
Jordan and Cecile Avne were married in March 2018. Creating an experience for kids at Becoming Church is the first ministry that they have undertaken as a married couple. Meeting while working for a children’s ministry over 8 years ago, Jordan and Cecile have served kids and families in multiple capacities over the years. Cecile comes from a preschool background, having worked as a preschool teacher for four years, and has volunteered as a Sunday School teacher. Jordan has ministry experience with elementary students, having led children’s services and small groups for 5th and 6th grade kids.
Jordan and Cecile’s heart is to reach the next generation, providing a fun and interactive program aimed at pointing children to Christ. It is their goal that children will leave Becoming Church every week understanding Jesus’ love for them, and more equipped to love those around them.
Jordan spends his days as an IT Business Analyst, and Cecile as a mom to their new son, Micah. They enjoy being outdoors, spending time with family, and especially going to Disneyland.
